God Keeps His Promises

God Keeps His Promises

II Samuel 7.1-29
Matthew 1.18-25

Promises made, promises broken
Promises made, promises kept Isaiah 7.14; Isaiah 9.6 a. Matthew 1.25

God keeps His Promises!

Standing on the Promises of God! Covenants He has made.

Edenic Adam and Eve Covenant
Covenant with the Earth After the Flood when Noah and his family came off the ark.
Covenant with Abraham
Covenant With Israel/Moses
Covenant with Joshua
Covenant With David
The New Covenant

The promise made to David 1,000 years before was fulfilled in Jesus' Birth and life and ministry and continues to be fulfilled today!

1. God Makes Incredible Promises

David's throne last forever

We having eternal life
More aware of the life that awaits me these days.
Not bothered by petty annoyances like I used to be,

D.S. This week... " I have never been freer than I am now and am at peace. There is very little I want to argue over."

Jesus promised He would be with us always even unto the end of the age.

Paul promised that He would meet all our needs according to His riches in Christ Jesus.
That Glad Reunion

2. God Fulfills His Promises

In His Way

In His Time
God's Promise to David was partially fulfilled in Solomon, but ultimately fulfilled in Jesus Christ.

3. God Does Immeasurably More

3. God Does Immeasurably More

Than we could ever ask
Ask God for His will to be done.
Ask God to help you
Our cups overflow

Than we could ever imagine
If He told you, you would not believe it

When David heard what God had told the prophet Nathan he was shocked. God have given him more than he ever expected. David marveled at the extravagance of God gift that would bless his kingdom for eternity. His response was to praise God in worship for redeeming his people and magnifying his name. David was thankful for all God had done for him and for the faithful people God had given David to lead. David realized that God had also promised to be the God of his people forever. David told God that by fulfilling the promise God had made God’s name would be magnified forever. And David asked for God’ eternal blessing on his descendants and on God’s people.

When we get into the Coming Kingdom, into Heaven, we will, I am sure, just marvel that we are even there at all! Seeing Jesus will be enough! He has spoken about more.

Then as we see the treasures we have stored up there, the people we prayed for, the people we spoke to about Christ, the kids that got the Christmas Shoeboxes... Along with the people who helped us in our walk with Christ...
